Sat in the lower bowl corner across the rink from this view. The Abdelkader hattrick on Babcocks coaching debut in Toronto was great.
Do you have the arrivals videos of any terminal?
Unfortunately, no I do not have any other videos of the old terminals at DTW.
Great memories!
Nice. I'm flying N695DL today(6/1/24) from ATL to RIC.
Hope you enjoyed the flight on 695!
nice - HD landing of the iconic 757
Great video. Love the 717. Also, the perfect seat for viewing the takeoff - great engine noise. Thx
I've been on the Wolverine Service 353 & 350 on venture coach 4019 and venture coach 4122 since May 1st

Finally watching a smooth takeoff. Successful flight . I still won't fly if I don't have to.
And 767
I mean 717 not dc-9
I like the Delta Flight Museum. They have a 747, dc-9, old 757, and more like a 737-200 sim.
I believe this is the B747-400 Prototype but was put into passenger service from late 1980’s to 2015 or so. Flew for a couple of different airlines throughout its service life.
Bro I looked the registration and its a delta 747 what? Edit: it was broken up for scrap in 2018 how old is this video?
This was filmed on 31AUG2015.
@@miaviation-railway okay makes more sense
One of the older 300ERs. I rode on this one to Santiago, Chili in 2002.
Very nice! Hope you enjoyed the flight on 1702.
Nice quality video
Thanks!
What seat were you in and where was this flight going to?
Tokyo to Detroit/HND-DTW/RJAA-KDTW via November 507 Delta November, an A350-941.
he was sitting in Delta One Suites
Great take off
0:18 I hear the PA announcer say something, not sure what.
My first ever game at the Joe was January 17, 2007 and I have been to 189 games at the Joe including this one and the last game of it. I still miss this arena to this day.

@@miaviation-railway Is Any Amount & Time Okay?
Yep! Go for it. Thanks for asking.
bout to hop on this very plane too N893DN
Enjoy your flight!
@@miaviation-railway thanks! it was great
I noticed at 2:13 that the spoilers & aileron went down, seemed like the hydraulic pressure died a bit. What happened?? Great videos though, love these Hawaiian 717’s!
Is this the terminal where NW 255 would have departed from?
Technically yes--as the Smith & Davey terminals were conjoined and shared concourses. The C concourse in particular was part of both terminals at one time. I am not sure of the exact gate NW255 used, but if anyone else does, please feel free to mention it here. My guess is considering that it was an MD-82, it would have either used C, D, or E.
@@miaviation-railway I'm a little obsessed with gates used by famous crashes. American 191, Usair 427, etc. are some of the gates I've been to. A little morbid, I know, but it feels kind of spiritrual to see a door where more than a hundred souls entered and left the earth for good.
AMAZING :)
great video and nice engine sounds :)
Thank you! This actually ended up being one of my favorite sounding 717 takeoffs to date. RR/BMW really built a spectacular engine!
Nice vantage point!
Thanks! This was filmed from seat 24A. On DL’s 717 fleet, this same spot is 26A, as the cabin is configured differently.
@@miaviation-railway interesting
Hawaiian 717, what a legend. Do they still give out those little canisters of POG on the inter-island hops?
They sure do! It’s an excellent added touch to the whole experience on HA.
The forgotten Boeing. The 717.
Thankfully, DL & HA still plan to fly them for the next few years!
💯 💪

Yes! Can you do please Southwest Airlines - Departed in SAC and Landing in AUS.
SAN based myself. Not sure why there's all this nostalgia for T1. It is probably the worst terminal in the lower 48 from an amenities standpoint, don't know a single san diegan who enjoys using T1.
Don’t get me wrong, there is certainly no hiding how much of a crowded relic T1 is in comparison to T2 West & other premier facilities across the globe. But love it or hate it, T1 has been paramount in the success of SAN since 1967. It’s just for that same reason that it is long overdue for modernization…. I suppose a lot of my nostalgia for T1 stems from it being included in many of my favorite trips in the past decade or so, and meeting one of my closest friends there. I’ve also found the rotunda concourses to be surprisingly somewhat cozy and relatively well kept for their age (1982 for the East Rotunda & 1990 for the West Rotunda).
Not sure if you have seen it recently but the old PSA hanger/HQ building has been demolished for the new terminal. I attended an airport board meeting about the T1 project back in 2014 in there and it was a very nice building. The lowest floor was used as a terminal for the LAX services on the old turboprops (E120's Saab's). I was actually sad to see that one go as the building and mural was iconic to SAN.
I saw what’s left of it on my way to T1 before sunrise on 1/13. Only about a quarter of the PSA/Commuter Terminal was still standing. I only ever flew in and out of it once, but it was a very easy to use facility. And that mural you mentioned will definitely be missed!
Yes! Can you do please Landing to the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
Yes! Can you do please Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Okay.
If I ever connect through there again someday and I have ample time to do so, I’d be happy to. I’m just not sure when that will be so I just don’t want to get your hopes up…
Thanks 4 this dandy little tour. Was curious how the 2 closed gates were adapted to being non functional.
Sure! Glad I could provide answers. I’d been wondering as well, as I usually end up in the T1 West Rotunda, or T2 for DL. Since this terminal is scheduled to be torn down in the next couple years, I wanted to get some footage to look back on after it is gone. As for the current state of the T1 East Rotunda, It is very nice having some extra room to sit down away from the crowds. The coffee shop that opened up where Gates 3-4 used to be is pretty good-I ended up grabbing a snack before I flew out from Gate 9 a few days after I filmed this.
@@miaviation-railway Wow, didn't even realize the coffee shop was new. Only time I've used SAN was about 10 years ago for a Virgin America flight to SFO. I will probably never see either rotunda. Doesn't SW use both concourses? How do connecting passengers do it without getting rescreaned?
Yes, WN does use both rotundas! The only issue is if you fly into 5-10 and fly out of 11-18, you will have to go through the other security checkpoint. Scheduling and ops is as mindful as possible when choosing what planes to park where and so on and so forth to avoid having passengers connect to the other rotunda. But sometimes, it is too challenging to accommodate.
@@miaviation-railway K, doesn't seem very practical. Same thing with the old 2 or 3 gates on the east end of T1 that were demolished.
Agreed, it’s not practical at all. But with the new T1 opening in 2025, that will soon be a problem of the past!
0:18 you know what they call that, a Shave and a Haircut!
The miserable sight of mid-set 2304... Not getting to let us hear what its horn sounds like now...
Rest assured, 2304 should be on the end soon enough! It will probably be pulled from mid-set sometime soon, and 2303 & 2308 will get their renovations. As unpopular of an opinion as it is, 2301 has been my favorite cab car for over a decade now and it’s always been great to ride with it-even with the unique fouled horn.
2305 is now in line to be overhauled next, and should be getting started on it right around now.
Nice! Looking forward to it.
@@superbaddy4 How long has it been out? I wonder if we’ll see it back this year. 2302 and 2307 are up after 05, correct?
2305 has been out since November 2022. It was directly replaced by 2306 on the very train it returned to service on, and then 2305 has never been seen running again since then, and only now is finally getting to go in for rebuild after a year of being stored out. 2302 and 2307 are currently sitting in the back line alongside Coach 2204 and both the F59PHIs. Apparently, they might just need maintenance, but their statuses are mostly unclear as of right now.
Coaster Cab Car 2304 literally just returned to service within the past few days, and could be caught right there at Oceanside, but unfortunately, today, it's only running mid-set. Hopefully it leads again soon.
Funny you mentioned that! When I was on 2301 up from Carlsbad to Oceanside to catch this Amtrak train, I did notice 2304 on the consist.
To let people know it is an amfleet ii, they have thicker windows comparing to amfleet i, the seats have more leg room and the amfleet ii have only one side door on one side while the other side does not have a door.
The Engine voice is very annoying, but your catching is amazing.
Bros inches from the engine 🤣🤣 Tinnitus giver🤣
It's odd that there's been this sudden influx of 2-car consists. This hasn't been normal at all for Tri-Rail in over a decade. Also, this consist was SO close to being able to be perfect. They already have a Blind Rotem Coach in the New Scheme, that being 1104. If only that was here instead of 1102, this could have been our very first All New Scheme Consist.
There might be 2-cars in order to get the wraps onto the rest of the equipment but who knows
What seat were you in, was this a 757-200 or 300 and when was this filmed and were you going to Florida for vacation?
8:11
There are also some Horizon Business-Cafe cars that have the restrooms of Amfleet cars.
Thanks for sharing! Do you happen to know which ones or any in particular that do?
Unfortunately I don’t…
That’s alright!
